Turtle Mountain Coal Mines was the site of Manitoba's only commercial coal mines, which operated from 1883 to 1945 in the Turtle Mountain region. The wartime labour shortage and changed economic conditions forced the last mine to close in 1943. Location: PTH 21 near PR 251.
