January 1st gets all the attention and a big night to party, but fall marks the true start of the year for many of us. Nature’s creatures have the right idea – it’s time for a change of scenery. We  can draw inspiration from their preparations – as well as a make a few more of own, from helping to keep our shorelines beautiful to watching the fall migration, taking a hike and more.

White after Labour Day?

Curious, playful and carnivorous, polar bears are one of the few iconic creatures of the Arctic you can witness in the wild. They’re real – and they’re spectacular. In October and November in the Polar Bear Capital of the World in Churchill, Manitoba, hundreds of bears move from their summer habitat on the tundra to the shores of Hudson Bay – and thousands more come to see them .
