You may have heard the term flight being used to describe a trendy type of tasty sampling. A flight of beer, a flight of wine, or even a flight of burgers! A flight is a term more newly coined in the food and beverage industry, referring to "small servings of various offerings." And like any good flight, there is variety. So depending on what you're in the mood for, maybe you're willing to try something new. Here is a flight of five unique experiential flavours to try in Brandon.
Crow's General Store | Brandon
Feel welcomed by the worlds of weird, wonky and wonderful at Crow's General Store, Brandon’s most unique kept secret. If creepy and cool are your thing, you’ll feel right at home. The bounty of the bizarre and beautiful are in no shortage, as you step back in time while exploring trinkets and tales from the past. The vastness of vintage items are a spectacle in itself and the personal passion for creatively curating and collecting is obvious. A working jukebox, jugs and jam jars, signs…and more signs. With visitors attending from around the globe from as far as Germany, China, and Brazil, Crow's is a draw for many to experience memorable oddities. Make sure to stop and say hello to owner Don Ditchfield and don't forget the ice cream!
Black Wheat Brewing | Brandon
Pints, flights, and growlers oh my! Try a different approach to life on the beach with Black Wheat Brewing’s Berry Kettle Sour. This cool and casual atmosphere offers an array of seating for those looking to sit back and socialize, or set their sights on behind-the-scenes action with views of the production area. Candid conversation coupled with chic decor is the perfect pairing for an 1882 New England IPA. On the run? Grab a brew to go with their large selection of canned beers.
Riverbank Discovery Centre | Brandon
Birds chirping, the breeze of the wind, trees rustling, and that fresh smell of summer; you’re at the Riverbank Discovery Centre. If you’re looking for a place to walk the pooch, spend time with family, or to have a picnic, you’ve found it. With an inclusive accessibility park for kids, and kilometres of pathways, there is endless room for discovery. Are you a bird lover? Grab a coffee and take a walk along the boardwalk and discover birds of the riverbank. If you don’t find the birds, they’ll definitely find you! Got water on the mind? Visit the newly installed Kayak and Canoe Cove; a safe spot to launch from onto the Assiniboine River. Looking to continue the adventure? Head on inside to the shop (which is pooch friendly) and there you'll find washrooms, brochures, souvenirs, and friendly staff to greet you.
The Eagles Nest Bar and Grill | Brandon
Good vibes, good music, and great food; everything you need for a good time. Nestled along the river is Eagles Nest Bar and Grill at the Wheat City Golf Course. Grab a spot on the patio or enjoy the comfort of air conditioning; either way, you'll have the best view! Take in the picturesque scene of the tennis court and golf green itself. Breakfast, appetizers, lunch, dinner, drinks with the crew, or a pit stop with the kids. Comfort food that is delicious and definitely photo-worthy. Do you like chicken? Have you ever thought of chicken as a topper? Salad, macaroni and cheese, nachos, quesadillas, waffles... they put chicken on it! Let the friendly staff at Eagles Nest Bar and Grill serve you a flight of chicken waffles or beef sliders that are sure to satisfy.
Holiday Inn Express | Brandon
