Manitoba Made

Manitoba has taken the concept of markets and needless to say… has ran with it. And not just a sprint mind you, a full fledged marathon. Markets are in abundance in Manitoba and they’re a treasure trove of locally handmade products that scream love, care and attention to detail. Who doesn’t love homemade?! A traditional summer affair for many finds home at the Pineridge Hollow Summer Market. Their large, beautiful outdoor white barn can be found just past The Village; it's hard to miss! It's adorned with crafted beams, white washed cathedral ceilings and wall to wall windows... allowing for maximum light with a great breeze way.

The market can accommodate up to 52 vendors during the summer and there’s a fun flow between returning vendors and new local makers. It's quite lovely to make your rounds, stopping at tables and hearing the passion and stories from Manitoba artisans. Learning how their business came to be, what inspired them to start their business, and how your support makes a difference in their life! There are items a plenty from jewlery and clothing, to spirits and soap. It's quite possible to buy all of your gifts and goodies for the rest of the year in one go. You just may need an extra tote bag, or two!

Sweet Sounds

The Village often has live music and entertainment on their outdoor stage during the summer time, adjacent to the barn. On this particular day the air was filled with chatter, laughter, and the sweet soothing sounds of a ukulele. Spending an afternoon being serenaded by Phil in the sun was a perfect touch to the day. Have a seat and stay awhile on one of their picnic tables.

Time to Eat

If you've been to the Pineridge Hollow Restaurant before, you know what you're in for. And if you haven't... you're in for a real treat. Just a short jaunt from The Village and around the bend of a walkway takes you for lunch. The restaurant offers guests the option of dining inside or outside on the patio during the summer season. A spot on the patio invites you to dine with the trees, sunshine and summer breeze. They take reservations and it's recommended to make them in advance! Who will you be taking with you?

To Share

Hands down, their famous Beet Chips will always make the cut for a great go-to appetizer. This gluten free chip treat is topped with rosemary and served with a house-made goat cheese ranch dipping sauce. You'll be munching every crumb and licking the sauce bowl clean. We had you at goat cheese ranch dipping sauce, didn't we?

Lighter Fare

A light lunch on a hot summer day is just what the doctor ordered. Try one of their tasty salads and for something different, ask what their seasonal salad offering is that day! For something with more zest and crunch, try their Pulled Pork Tacos! Three flour tortillas, Oak Knoll pulled pork, iceverg lettuce, pickled red onions, whipped feta, fresh pineapple salsa and cilantro. You can even add on their house-made hot sauce for 50 cents.

Sips

Pineridge Hollow is madly in love with mocktails and we are too! Try these on for a sip:
Blackberry Daze:
House-made basil syrup, blackberry Bubly, lemonade, garnished with blackberrries and basil.
Frank is Fruity:
Muddled fresh berries and limes, house made lime syrup, 7up and lime Bubly.

Go To the Greenhouse

If the summer air and vibrancy of trees and greens in bloom is your love language, then do we have the place for you! The greenhouse at Pineridge Hollow is open and ready for you to find your next plant, herb, or flower bundle to add to your yard or home. Take a little piece of nature home with you.

Pop by the Petting Farm

A Pineridge Hollow true classic is in thanks to fun and furry farm animal friends at the petting farm. Baby chicks, pigs, goats, rabbits, sheep and even a donkey spend their summer in the sunshine and visitor spotlight. Stop by for a cute hello and memorable photo ops.

Psst... you can visit the restaurant and ask for a snack to share with the animals!

Find the Farmer's Kitchen

Tasty Takeaways

If you're looking for extra edible goodies to go, you'll find yourself at the Farmer's Kitchen on your way out of The Village. Check out their impressive selection of grocery goods. Meats, produce, sauces, syrups, seasonings and how can we forget... the cheese counter. Yes, an entire counter dedicated to cheeses and cured meats. And if the tantalizing smell of freshly baked goods from Hildegard's Bakery didn't stop you in your tracks on the way in, it sure will on the way out. Maybe we should have mentioned you may need one more tote bag...

Call up that friend, spend time with your sister, take your nephews somewhere new, and get your group of friends together for a weekend of summer sun and fun. Markets bring families together.

Summer Loves Ice Cream

Summer loves families, memory making, hiking trails through the trees, and visiting markets. How could we forget how much summer loves ice cream? Pop into The Square at The Village and order sweet treats to go. Next time you're wondering how to make the most out of this season with your family and friends, remember that your next memorable weekend is at the Pineridge Hollow Summer Market.
