    Getting Around in Churchill

    Churchill is a small town and it is fairly easy to walk around town to shop or explore. Remember you are in polar bear country – respect all signage and warnings. It is not recommended to explore on foot outside the town without a guide.

    Most packages will include transfers from the airport or rail station and to all activities and excursions included in your itinerary. For those planning a DYI trip to Churchill, there are tour operators that offer town and areas tours. Tamarack Rentals is the only car rental agency for those looking to explore independently.

    Getting to Churchill

    By Train

    The Via Rail Canada train departs Union Station in Winnipeg for Churchill every Sunday and Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. The train departs Churchill every Thursday and Saturday.

    The train ride is approximately 48 hours long – two days and two nights as it covers 1697 kilometres through Manitoba.
