Join us as we celebrate the exhibition opening of Threads of Kin and Belonging: A Trinnipeg Live Mixtape Project. Curated by Nestor Wynrush and Julia Lafreniere.

Threads of Kin and Belonging is a visual art exhibition accompanying the 4th Trinnipeg Live Mixtape project. The first 3 iterations took place at The Tallest Poppy (Wpg, MB), West End Cultural Centre (Wpg, MB) and the Remai Modern Art Museum (Saskatoon, SK). This project is an intervention and conversation between Indigenous Nations and Black communities on Treaty One Territory. It is about creating, defining, and collaborating in a space by us and for us—our kin. We are exploring our collective histories and our unique, but intertwined futures—to create threads of kin and belonging.

The celebration will feature remarks from curators Nestor Wynrush and Julia Lafreniere and other special guests! Enjoy the cash bar, plus remarks from Dr. Stephen Borys, WAG-Qaumajuq Director & CEO. Afterwards, we invite you to explore the exhibition for FREE!

This project is co-produced with Synonym Art Consultation.
