The Myths That Shape Us

Feb 24

  • Admission: $15.00
  • Time: 7:30 PM to 10:30 PM

The Myth's that Shape Us is an evening of live art creation and music collaboration inspired by Theatre Projects Manitoba’s upcoming production Prophecy by Jessy Ardern. In the course of an evening participants will be engaged in an artistic conversation conducted by a local female Indigenous artist Jackie Traverse and Prophecy's Sound Designer/Composer and professional cellist Natanielle Felicitas. Each artist will improvise, in their specific artistic medium, a non verbal conversation about culture, their worldviews, and how those ideals leave an impact on the world, reminding audiences that there are other mythologies that shape humans, thus there are other ways to be human. Participants will also be invited to create their own collective art piece in response. The finished art pieces will then hang in the lobby throughout Prophecy's public run as a land acknowledgment that continues the conversation into the world of women in Greek Mythology.

The evening will also include complimentary snacks and non- alcoholic refreshments from vendors at The Forks Market.
