Survey finds Manitobans are welcoming to visitors in the province.
Earlier this year, Travel Manitoba commissioned Legers to conduct a Residents Pride Survey to collect data on Manitobans’ opinions about the province as a tourism destination and how that compares to other provinces.
Highlights from the study include:
Survey results found that Manitobans would welcome visitors to their communities and agree that tourism improves quality of life and creates jobs. Over half of the surveyed Manitobans believe their province is becoming a better place to visit.
Canadians living outside Manitoba are likely to believe that great outdoor activities, wildlife viewing opportunities and great winter experiences are Manitoba’s greatest tourism assets.
Manitobans put appealing festivals and events, compelling attractions and great wildlife viewing opportunities at the top of their list.
The survey of 1,933 Canadians, with 475 residents of Manitoba and 1,458 across the nation responding, was completed between February 16 and 18, 2024 using Leger’s online panel.
