Winter is here and nobody does winter better than Manitoba!
Travel Manitoba recently launched the winter flight of its latest consumer campaign, encouraging both residents and travellers to get out and explore. When the snow falls, the province transforms into a winter wonderland ready for whatever travellers’ hearts need–an adventure, an adrenaline rush, an escape or to reflect and relax.
As part of the campaign, we’ve launched five content-rich landing pages in English and French featuring a wide variety of things to do to help travellers and residents make the most of this season. Digital, social, video, radio and print ads will drive traffic to these webpages where residents and potential visitors can begin to plan their winter adventure to or within Manitoba.
Our target markets for these campaigns include Manitoba, Canada and the U.S.
Other Tactics We’ve also launched a targeted northern lights campaign to Mandarin- and Cantonese-speaking Canadians in the Greater Toronto Area to help promote our tourism partners’ northern lights packages to a new audience.A new Chinese landing page was developed with display and print ads driving traffic to the webpage where readers can find out more about viewing the northern lights in Churchill.
Throughout the campaign, we’ll be collaborating with The Ace Burpee Show to produce on-air segments and live-on-location hits from around the province. We also worked with BlogTO and True North Living to create sponsored content that unveils the best of winter in Manitoba to future travellers.
Further tactics include organic content on social media and blogs on our website, featuring top things to do and places to go during the winter. Travel Manitoba is active on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.

In November, U.S. travel and lifestyle website Thrillist published a main page feature article on Churchill and many of its Indigenous tour operators.
The article, "Churchill, Canada is Practically a Year-Round Winter Wonderland", was a result of Travel Manitoba, Indigenous Tourism Manitoba and Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC) collaborating on a media trip as part of the International Indigenous Tourism Conference this past March in Winnipeg.
Recently, Forbes published an online article by Johanna Read that explores ways to relax during winter in Winnipeg. The article “Warm Up and Chill Out, Even in Winnipeg’s Winter” featured Ten Spa, Thermëa by Nordik Spa-Nature, Pocca Poca - Japanese Detox Spa & Massage Therapy and The Leaf.
Travel Manitoba hosted Johanna Read in the summer, and after a few days in Winnipeg, she joined the Belugas, Bears and Blooms FAM trip with Frontiers North Adventures.
