    Swim beneath wide open skies and dig your toes into the soft sand of Grand Beach Provincial Park, or explore the other side of Lake Winnipeg at the beachy towns of Gimli and Winnipeg Beach. One of the best ways to explore unknown waters is to embark on a boat tour with an experienced guide.

    Always be water safe, know your swimming abilities and wear a personal flotation device when paddling or boating.

    Gimli is a favourite day trip for Winnipeggers - only an hour north of the city - visitors come for its beaches in summer and ice fishing in winter. But along the way, they are touched by a little elfin magic, as Gimli’s Nordic roots take hold.
